don’t be so sensitive

Most skincare companies make products that claim to be acceptable for sensitive skin, but many of us who actually have sensitive skin have been quite literally burned by those claims. If this is you, fear not-HALE & HUSH TO THE RESCUE!

I had the misfortune of learning about Hale & Hush just a couple of weeks before the world shut down in 2020. I created an account and they sent me a very generous sample pack of every single product so that I could try them out. I say ‘misfortune,’ because due to the shutdown, I wasn’t able to get the products that I was immediately obsessed with onto my clients’ skin. However, it was also kind of a blessing, because I was able to order full sizes of the whole line and use them on my own skin for several months until I was allowed to perform facials again. By then, I had taken several trainings with Hale & Hush and had created regimens for friends and family, so I was well educated on the line and had seen it in action. My skin was also looking better than it ever had before, though I’d been using professional products for 5 years at that point. When I was finally able to work on clients, I saw the magic of Hale & Hush over and over again on a daily basis. It didn’t take long for my clients to fall in love either!

Many years ago, I was using things that are well known for being “recommended for sensitive skin.” You know what I’m talking about-the Cetaphil, Cerave, Burt’s Bees type of section at the drugstore. They are…uh…not actually that great. Cetephil destroyed my skin’s barrier (even their “gentle” cleanser left my skin irritated and raw!). Cerave isn’t the worst, but it’s also not really doing anything for your skin either. I’m just going to ignore Burt’s Bees completely. My point is, if you have sensitive skin, you probably have tried the basics, didn’t see any results, and then either gave up completely or have continued to try more expensive lines that just make your skin angry. It doesn’t have to be this way!

If you have a compromised skin barrier, that must be taken care of before anything else. That means Quiet Wash cleanser (which is lash extension safe AND gets off every smidge of makeup) and Hush Hydrate mixed with Relief Bio Powder. Daily use of those for a couple of months will repair your skin so that we can set it up to work on other concerns. If you don’t have a compromised barrier, or your skin is just a normal kind of sensitive, Hale & Hush is still for you! They also have products that are great for folks who aren’t all that sensitive, if I’m being honest. The Beedazzle treatment is pretty spicy, but still gentle on skin and gives incredible peel-like results without the actual peel part. I’m telling ya, this line is for everyone! Other standout products for me: Rare C Serum, Rare Retinal Serum (yes, both of these serums are amazing for skin that typically can’t handle either of those types of products!), Brilliant Eye & Lip Serum, and Vital Lipid Lotion.

I’ve hesitated to have one focus in my business, but I’m pretty confident in calling myself a sensitive skin specialist. I struggled for so many years to find something that worked for me, and actually made noticeable changes in my skin, so when I found Hale & Hush, I knew I had struck gold. If you’re reading this and you’re nervous about trying new products because you’ve been burned in the past, just know that it doesn’t have to be this way. Reach out so that you can get on the road to relief!

love & lipstick,

Cherrie
